Pass or lift tickets? Find the cheapest way to ski.

Pick a mountain, your dates and who’s coming. We compare lift tickets, the resort’s own passes and packs, and multi-resort passes like Epic, Ikon and Mountain Collective, then show the cheapest option for each person.

The calculator

Compare your trip

One trip is the quickest answer. Switch to multi-mountain to plan a whole season across several resorts.

Prices change. Always confirm on the resort or pass website before you buy.

How it works

One answer for each person in your group

The cheapest option is often different for each skier, so the calculator works it out person by person.

One trip

A single mountain, your dates

Choose a resort, the days you’ll ski and everyone’s age. You get the cheapest way for each person to ski, and the runner-up.

Multi-mountain

A whole season or road trip

Add every mountain and every set of dates. We find the pass, or mix of passes and lift tickets, that covers all of it for the least.

Buy-by dates

When to buy, and alerts

Passes go up in price through the fall. We show the deadlines that matter and can email you if a price change makes a different plan cheaper.

Why trust it

Real prices, checked every day

We pull lift ticket and pass prices from each resort’s own store for your exact dates. If a resort hasn’t posted this season’s prices yet, we say so and estimate from last season’s.

PeakRankings isn’t affiliated with any resort or pass. Buy links go to each seller’s own site, and we don’t earn a commission on them.

FAQ

Common questions

Is a ski pass worth it?

It depends on how many days you’ll ski and where. A pass usually pays off once you ski enough days at resorts it covers, but that point varies a lot from resort to resort and even date to date. The calculator prices your exact days both ways and shows which is cheaper for each person.

Should I get Epic or Ikon?

If you’re choosing between the big passes, start with our Epic vs Ikon vs Mountain Collective vs Indy breakdown for 2026-27. Then put your actual trips into the calculator to see which one, if any, beats buying lift tickets.

Are lift tickets cheaper if you buy online in advance?

At many resorts, yes. Lots of resorts raise prices as a date gets closer, and the ticket window is usually the most expensive way to buy. The calculator uses each resort’s online price for your dates.

When do pass prices go up?

Most multi-resort passes go up in price in steps through the fall and stop selling in early December. When a deadline affects your answer, the calculator shows the date to buy by.

Do kids, students and military get cheaper tickets?

Often. Young kids ski free or close to it at many resorts, and some resorts discount tickets for students and military. Enter each person’s age and status and the calculator applies the rates the resort publishes.
