Day 1: Arrival in Tahoe City

Guests arrive via group transportation from San Francisco or Reno and transfer to the PeakHouse chalet in Tahoe City.

Afternoon / Evening: After arriving, guests will check into the house, unpack, meet the group, and get oriented for the weekend. Depending on arrival times, we’ll have a group dinner either at the house or at a nearby Tahoe City restaurant.

Day 2: Ski Day 1 - Palisades Side

Our first ski day will focus on the Palisades side of Palisades Tahoe

Morning:

  • We’ll start with breakfast at the house, then leave early for the Palisades base area to minimize access-road delays and give the group a smooth start. After arrival, guests will boot up, regroup, and split into ski pods.

    • For intermediate guests: The best early focus will be upper-mountain zones like Gold Coast and Shirley Lake, where guests can get comfortable with the resort’s layout and enjoy more manageable groomed terrain.

    • For advanced guests: Depending on conditions, the group can explore steeper terrain off zones such as Headwall, Granite Chief, or other advanced-facing pods.

    • For experts: If terrain and visibility allow, the expert group may target classic Palisades zones such as KT-22, Headwall, or Granite Chief. The exact plan will depend heavily on what is open and skiing well.

Midday: Optional regroup for lunch on the Palisades side.

Afternoon: In the afternoon, groups can spread out more naturally. Intermediate guests can continue exploring groomers and scenic upper-mountain terrain. Advanced and expert guests can push deeper into Palisades’ more challenging terrain if conditions are appropriate.

Après: After skiing, we’ll stay in Olympic Valley for après. The Palisades side has the stronger base-area après scene, making Friday the best day for a classic resort-village hangout before returning to Tahoe City.

Evening: Pasta Dinner - The group returns to Tahoe City for a pasta dinner prepped by the PeakHouse team!

Gather with the crew at the accomodations each night for that ski-house feel after a long day on the slopes!

Day 3: Ski Day 2 - Alpine Meadows Side

Morning:

  • We’ll leave Tahoe City early again, especially because Saturday traffic and parking can be more challenging.

    • Intermediates: Alpine Meadows is the best day to prioritize longer blue cruisers off places like Lakeside and Treeline Cirque. The group can spend the day finding comfortable laps rather than constantly navigating around expert-heavy zones.

    • Advanced guests: Alpine has plenty of steeper bowls and mogul terrain, including frontside areas such as Summit and Scott and the backside Sherwood zone.

    • Experts: If conditions cooperate, the expert group can focus on technical chutes and couloirs, including some standout hikes to lines like Keyhole and Idiot’s Delight.

Midday: We’ll meet for lunch at the Alpine base area.

Afternoon: The afternoon will continue with flexible ability-group skiing. If conditions, timing, and group interest make sense, some guests may use the Base-to-Base Gondola to sample both sides of the resort. But the gondola may leave you stranded on the Palisades side, so don’t return too leisurely!

Evening: The group returns to the chalet to grill burgers for the final dinner of the trip.

Day 4: Ski Day 3 + Departure

Sunday will be the flexible final ski day. Because we will have already skied both major sides of Palisades Tahoe, the final morning can be based on what the group liked most and what conditions are doing best.

Morning:

  • Check out of chalet: Guests will eat breakfast, pack bags, load luggage, and prepare for departure before heading to the mountain. Because this is also a travel day, the final ski session will likely be shorter than Friday or Saturday. We’ll choose between:

    • Option A: Return to the Palisades side Best if the group wants a bigger final-day atmosphere or hasn’t fully checked off Palisades on Day 1.

    • Option B: Return to Alpine Meadows Best if the group preferred Saturday’s terrain or wants to avoid the crowds.

    • Option C: Visit Sierra-at-Tahoe If on the way back to San Francisco, guests can choose to visit an entirely different Ikon-based mountain on the third day of the trip. It’s smaller and more low-key than Palisades.

Early Afternoon: Departure - After skiing, the group will change out of ski gear, load vehicles, and depart for Reno and/or San Francisco. Guests should book later flights to account for winter road conditions and Sunday ski-day timing. Those returning to San Francisco should expect a longer drive, especially with weekend traffic.
