Loveland Snowcat Expansion Ready To Go, 2020/21 Operations Dependent on COVID
Earlier this month, Loveland secured approval from the USFS to provide private snowcat tours in the avalanche-mitigated, sparsely-tracked Dry Gulch area. Since the new terrain won’t require any major infrastructure projects, these tours are theoretically ready to go and could start as soon as next January.
Jackson Town Council Approves Snow King Gondola
Earlier this week, Jackson, WY’s town council unanimously voted to approve construction of the proposed gondola at Snow King resort. The 8-passenger gondola, which will replace the resort’s Summit double chair, will be permitted to operate for night skiing.
Indy Ski Pass Adds Snow King, White Pine, Winterplace, and Buck Hill
The Indy Pass has added two-day access to four additional resorts for the 2020-21 season. Theoretically, passholders will now be able to ski for 112 days next season if they hit every resort on the pass.

Late Friday evening, Vail-owned Mountain News Corporation announced that it would be shutting down OnTheSnow and other affiliated websites effective July 13, 2020. In a statement, the media outlet said it was no longer financially viable to continue operating the sites.

Vail Resorts Suspends Winter Operations at 2 of Its 3 Australian Resorts
Today, Vail Resorts announced it would be suspending operations at Mount Hotham and Falls Creek, its two Australian resorts in the state of Victoria, just a few days after they opened for the season. These closures, which will last until at least August 19, come on the heels of a recent COVID-19 spike and subsequent stay-at-home orders issued by the state.
